— A new food delivery service is launching in Virginia, and the company hopes to use it to help make Norfolk’s food delivery a reality.
Norfolk, a regional food delivery company, is launching an app to allow customers to choose the delivery location, which will help it target customers to their desired neighborhood.
The service will start in the spring of 2019, and customers can also book delivery for up to eight weeks, the company said.
The company has raised about $100,000 in funding.
The Norfolk Food Delivery app will allow customers who don’t live in Norfolk to order food for pickup from their favorite restaurants.
The app, which the company calls Norfas Food Delivery, is being developed in collaboration with local businesses.
The service will initially be available in Norfolk.
Customers can pick up groceries at restaurants in Norfolk, Norfolk City, Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach, and delivery will begin in late 2019.
