I know I’m not the only one with family and friends’ Instagram accounts that are constantly updated.
So how do you ensure your family or your friends’ Snapchats aren’t hacked?
To be safe, keep your family and/or friends’ accounts locked down for a minimum of six months.
Once you lock down your Snapchat account, your Instagram account and/and any other apps you use are encrypted to keep them safe from hackers.
If your Instagram and Snapchat account are locked down, you will also need to be sure your Snapchamps are locked, too.
You can use a tool called Snapchat Lockdown to lock down an Instagram or Snapchat account and the apps you interact with, but be sure to use a method that is easy to remember and easy to manage.
You can also use a Snapchat app that’s password-protected, but keep your password secret.
In order to make this process as easy as possible, I’ve created this quick guide to help you learn how to lock Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook accounts down.
This guide will help you lock Instagram and Facebook for a maximum of six weeks, but you can also lock Instagram for a longer period of time by going to Settings > Privacy and Security > Snapchat Lock Down.
How do I lock down Instagram?
If you’re already using Instagram, follow these steps to lock your Instagram: Open the Instagram app Tap the lock icon to the left of the Instagram icon Tap Settings Tap General Tap Settings Settings > Lock settings for your account Tap the option that says “Restrict access to your account” and then “Allow access only to approved parties.”
You can lock Instagram with just a tap of a button.
To unlock an Instagram account, just go to Settings → Privacy and security → Snapchat Lock down and click the “Restore” button.
How to lock Facebook?
Open the Facebook app Tap Settings Select the Privacy and Safety section Tap General You’ll be asked to choose which apps you want to access when your account is locked down.
To do this, tap Settings → Facebook Lock down then select “Restricted access to Facebook.”
To unlock Facebook, just click Settings → Access Settings to select “No more Facebook.”
How can I lock Instagram in case of a security breach?
There are a few ways you can lock down the Instagram account if your account has been compromised.
If you don’t have access to Instagram, then you can use this Snapchat tutorial to lock it down for six weeks: 1.
Go to Settings: Privacy and safety 2.
Tap Settings: Security, security settings and then tap “Restriction” 3.
Click “Restructure” to select the account you want locked down from the list, then click “Restart” to begin the lock down process.
How long can I keep Instagram locked down?
Instagram is usually locked down until six weeks after your account was locked down (or if it was temporarily blocked by your ISP), but there are several ways to limit the amount of time your Instagram accounts can be locked down: 1) Lock the Instagram password for a specified period of six or more weeks: To lock Instagram’s password, go to Instagram Settings: Your Account, Instagram password, and your password are all the same.
Go back to your Instagram settings and check the box that says you want Instagram to lock all your accounts, but not Instagram’s account.
Tap Restricted access for this account to unlock the Instagram accounts.
Note: If you want your Instagram password to stay the same, you can sign up for a new Instagram account.

How much money do I have to spend on my Instagram account to lock the account down?
You can buy a device that has the same or similar features to Instagram’s device, such as WiFi, a camera, and a microphone, but these will cost you a lot more than the device itself.

What if Instagram’s data breaches are more severe?
As Instagram data breaches become more severe, your account might need to undergo a data compromise.
If your account experiences a data intrusion or a hack, you’ll need to make a plan to take the following steps: 1: Turn off the Instagram device and log in to your existing account.
2: Lock down your Instagram app, Instagram camera, or microphone, then sign up to Instagram and log into your account.
3: Reset your account’s password.
What happens if my account is compromised again?
If your Instagram data is compromised, you won’t be able to log in until you’ve reset your account password.
