If you’re going to spend money on premium channels, make sure you know how to avoid getting scammed.
“We’ve got a lot of scams, and it can be really difficult to detect and respond to them,” says Paul Sargent, vice-president of communications at Funimation.
According to the company, the scams are happening on a wide scale, including: “Scams targeting individuals or families.
Scams targeting young consumers.
Scammers targeting consumers between the ages of 18 and 50.”
Sargent says Funimation’s response to the issues has been to increase the number of channels it offers in the premium service.
He says the company has also increased its response times to suspicious requests for information.
Funimation also says it is working with authorities to help protect its customers and to investigate any incidents.
There are more than 1,600 channels in the U.S. and Canada.
Funimation has more than 250,000 members.
